: Say No To Blue Monday on 18 Jan! This is my Happy Monday!
The papers and media are full of bogus stories about next Monday being the most depressing day of the year!
Yeah right! This pathetic so called story has been trotted out for the last few years ever since Sky Travel paid Dr Cliff Arnall to come up with a "formula" as part of an advertising campaign.
I'm not sure why Sky Travel figure that being depressed would make me buy a holiday, but I very much resent marketers deliberately trying to make feel down! When I do feel down I'm more likely to shut out the world and take a few duvet days than look for new adventures. I've nothing against holidays, they can be great fun. Being manipulated though, I hate that!
On Monday 18 January I will be saying "This is my Happy Monday"
Have a Happy Monday!
If you are genuinely sad, that's fine, but don't let anyone talk you down into misery by auto suggestion!
Play cheerful songs, tell jokes, play silly games, and lets reclaim Monday 18th January 2010 from the media manipulators, because how blithering dare they tell you how to feel, just so they can take money from your bank account.
On twitter you can use the tag #happymonday and there are a couple of twibbons available
9am to 12noon GMT Jim Hawkins on BBC Radio Shropshire will be discussing uplifting stories and playing cheerful choonage ( http://news.bbc.co.uk/local/shropsh ire/hi/ play buttons top right of page)
